So the holiday is over and its time to get back to work. I am sure i ain’t the only one who struggled to get ready for work this morning, having had the weekend begin on Friday to Monday due to the Eid-el-Fitr holidays. I hope you all had fun.  This was really a long weekend and sleep i did all through. I am glad i did rest but it was so boring and i got thinking of a vacation and where i would love to go to.

So many places on my mind but Paris is the top on my list. Oh how i would love to be in Paris right now, so many places i would love to visit there. The first place i would definitely visit is the Notre Dame Cathedral. Oh yes, i am sorry to disappoint you, most people have the Eiffel tower on the top of their list. The Eiffel tower should be the second or probably the third on my list. Having had the best History of Architecture lecturer, Arc. Obinegbo, back then in school, you sure would have no choice but to love the Notre Dame. Notre Dame is one of the finest French Gothic Architecture. I want to climb the 387 steps all the way to the tower, i want to see the magnificent stained glass windows, the flying buttresses. I always wonder if the flying buttress we have in our own Anglican cathedral in Marina, Lagos is anywhere close to that of the Notre Dame’s flying buttress (I’m sure its not).

The second on my list should be the Eiffel tower. Surely everyone has to see this when you are in Paris. 324 meters high, it is one of the most visited monuments in the world with nearly 7 million visitors a year. I wonder if i would be able to climb the 1,665 stairs. Thank God for the elevators though, but i would surely try.

The Louvre Museum have to be next of course. Its glass pyramid is an amazing sight i would love to see it in reality not just in pictures. The museum is so large, and its divided into eight different department, objects of arts, paintings, Egyptians and Oriental antiquities, Islamic arts etc.

So these are the first three places i would definitely visit. There are so many other places to visit for sure like the Moulin Rogue and the Arch of triumph – Champs Elysees which is nick named the most beautiful avenue in the world, but until i get there….lol. I am thinking i should wait to go to Paris for my honeymoon. I hope he would love sight seeing too, he better does because he wont have a choice… Should start thinking of going to London before this supposed honeymoon.

Pardon my musings this Tuesday morning. Hope you have fun at work today.
